Tarma'mog Skysinger
It is only right that this story begins with one of the most influential persons in the life of this druid: a seasoned veteran of the hunt, Nak'mok of the Mag'har tribe. This lady orc was skilled not only in combat but was exceptional in the art of cooking as well, though she was hardly a youth: Nak'mok was thirty-seven years of age at the time. When Mannoroth's foul influence touched upon her homeland in Draenor(as well as its Orc folk), she was one of those who succumbed to the temptations of power and became corrupted as so many others did. Nak'mok travelled through the Dark Portal to fight amongst the orcish armies, who were inevitably defeated by the human forces. Despite her attempts to resist, she was taken captive and imprisoned within an internment camp.
The years of which she remained imprisoned there were uneventful until Thrall freed the orcs, taking them into his own company and continuing on. Nak'mok was an elderly orc at this point, in her late fifties. Her skills in combat had considerably depreciated, and she was not often able to fight at the front-lines nearly as often as she wished. Instead she would act as a battle-chef, cooking some meals for the orcs who were able to fight in her place. Although her abilities had suffered terribly after such lengthy confinement, her memories of Nagrand and its beauty remained strong and true. The image of the magnificent rolling hills with trees that dotted the fields along with the bright sky inspired her to continue on, and she held onto the recollection dearly. They travelled together for countless days and nights, eventually deciding that they would venture to across the sea to Kalimdor as Medivh advised them to.
Upon landing on the shores of the new world, Nak'mok badly injured her leg. At the time there was little to be done for the wound: the break was bound and wrapped carefully, but it set poorly and crippled any hope of serious combat for the old orc. Once the orcs had befriended the Tauren, Nak'mok came to realization that she could not accompany Thrall further on his quest. She grudgingly accepted that her wound would allow her to progress no further and offered her culinary skills to the Tauren, deciding that she would stay with them once the Centaur marauders were driven away.
Despite her grave injury and sometimes brash nature, the small Skysinger tribe of Tauren took special care of the elderly orc and respected her sincerely. Two particular Tauren took an interest in the old orc: Haarta and her daughter, Tarma.
Though it was a long time before Nak'mok would openly speak of it, the orc told them about Nagrand and its beauty. Everything from the skies, the fields, the lakes and rivers: all of these were given in intricate detail, the fond memories seeming to have become rich with age. Haarta and Tarma found themselves in awe of such a land, truly inspired. They learned much from one another in the months that passed, and forged a bond through friendship. Nak'mok was very nearly sixty years of age when she departed from the mortal realm and passed on, unable to press her body for further services. The Tauren paid their respects to the orc, and Tarma honoured her name as she began to call herself Tarma'mog. Their good orcish friend had a thick accent, and so Tarma had always heard her pronnounce her name as Nak'mog.
(( This is a brief tale detailing events of the past that brought about the naming of Tarma'mog Skysinger. More stories will be posted about just who that Tauren is, and why she is. ))
